영어논문작성방법 (2) Discussion (고찰) (I)

논문에서 Discussion (고찰)은 일반적으로 다음과 같이 구성되어 있습니다.

1. 연구 목적

2. 연구 결과 중 연구 목적을 지지하는 결과 제시

3. 연구 결과와 일치하는(유사한, 뒷받침하는) 참고문헌을 제시하며 설명

4. 연구 결과와 반대되는(충돌사항이 있는) 참고문헌을 제시하며 설명

5. 연구 결과의 새로운 점과 의의를 지적

6. 예상하지 못한 소견이 있는 경우 설명

7. 한계점(Limitations)

이번 시간에는 1. 연구 목적 부분, 고찰을 시작하는 문장을 알아보겠습니다.

1. 연구 목적을 다시 기술합니다.

연구 목적을 기술하는 문장은 Introduction (서론) 편에서도 다루었습니다.

4가지 문장 유형이 있으므로 서론에서와 다른 문장 유형으로 기술하면 좋습니다.

1) The present study was (designed) to establish adequate criteria for categorizing 'obesity disease' in Japan in relation to obesity-related complications.

(괄호) 안에 들어갈 수 있는 단어: conducted, designed, attempted, undertaken, carried out, performed

2) The (aim) of the present study was to establish adequate criteria for categorizing ‘obesity disease’ in Japan in relation to obesity-related complications.

(괄호) 안에 들어갈 수 있는 단어: aim, objective, purpose

 

3) It was the aim of this study to investigate ~.

 

4) The premise of this article is that it is possible to reduce but not eliminate the risk of TB infection in many institutional settings through environmental interventions.
